France, Spain and the UAE airdropped humanitarian aid into Gaza after a global hunger monitor earlier this week said a famine scenario was unfolding in the area, with malnutrition soaring, children under five dying of hunger-related causes and humanitarian access severely restricted.   Israel began allowing the airdrops this week, but United Nations agencies say they are a poor alternative to letting in more trucks.
