Week 1 of our Joffrey Akron Summer Intensive has come to a close—and it has been nothing short of dynamic. This multi-genre intensive was created to shape strong, adaptable dancers, and after just one week, the growth in the studio is already undeniable.⁠ ⁠ Dancers have spent their days immersed in a fast-paced, focused environment, moving between ballet, jazz, contemporary, conditioning, and more. Each class brings its own challenges, asking dancers to shift gears quickly, refine their technique, and approach each style with fresh intention and artistry. The training is designed to push boundaries, deepen understanding, and develop strength and stamina.⁠ ⁠ This first week has been all about building a strong technical foundation while encouraging each dancer to explore their full range as an artist.
