Congratulations to Georgian College georgiancollege BID grads on their graduation! We are featuring two 4th year thesis projects that, although very different, both foster connection and inclusivity. Sarah Chisholm The Gaia Renewal Centre is a rehabilitation and wellness facility for women and girls with long-term injuries and permanent impairments—many of whom have faced not only physical challenges, but also the emotional toll of being dismissed or overlooked within the medical system. In Canada, there are no affordable centres that focus specifically on long-term recovery while offering inclusive, compassionate care. Gaia fills this gap with a holistic model that blends dignity, community, and whole-person healing. The design encourages movement and calm through radial forms, flowing circulation, and natural materials.
