Learn more about this funky route 👇 "'Epidote"' is a funky, three dimensional climb located in Wild Basin near RMNP, CO. The boulder revolves around a series of tenuous heel hooks, namely the crux that involves placing and keeping a very tricky heel/toe cam between a small exposed seam and the roof of the boulder. Being a smaller person who enjoys softer shoes—I had issues occupying the space necessary to make the cam work while also keeping my softer shoe's heel from collapsing out of the position. With the Drago XT, I was quickly able to keep the critical cam engaged on its rigid heel to continue working that link of the climb.
