Native to eastern and southern Africa, these moths are known for their vibrant green wings and long tails, closely related to the Luna Moths found in the U.S. Like their relatives, African Moon Moths don’t develop mouthparts, so they don’t eat or drink as adults. Instead, their brief adult lives are spent seeking a mate. To prevent egg-laying (since caterpillars can quickly defoliate plants), our female moths remain beside the Chrysalis Chamber..
