The #GiffordFire started Friday afternoon on the Santa Barbara/San Luis Obispo county line, very close to the ignition point of July’s 80,000 acre #MadreFire. After just 4 hours, it had already burned 5000 acres. Highway 166, which connects Bakersfield to the coast, is closed east of Santa Maria, just like it was during the Madre Fire. Most of the smoke should drift east into Kern County, but you may notice some smoke/haze in both Kings and Tulare counties. #california #fresno #fire #bakersfield
