Former MP Mhairi Black has announced she’s left the SNP, citing the party’s ‘capitulation’ on trans rights and its action in regard to Palestine. Black, who rose to prominence in 2015 as the UK’s youngest MP since 1832, said she’s still ‘pro-independence’ but no longer aligns with key party decisions, particularly around LGBT+ issues. In an interview with The Herald she stated “If anything, I'm probably a bit more left wing than I have been. I don't think I have changed all that much.
