Puerto Rico has banned gender-affirming health care for transgender youth. On Wednesday (16 July), Republican Governor Jenniffer González-Colón signed a law that prohibits gender-affirming medical care for transgender people under 21. The law, Senate Bill 350, prohibits the use of puberty blockers, hormone therapy and gender-affirming surgeries for transgender youth.
