Cooper Koch just received an Emmy nomination for his performance as Erik Menendez on Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story. The actor revealed that following the nomination announcement, he spoke to one of the series’ titular subjects, Lyle Menendez, from prison. Speaking on the Awardist Podcast, Cooper said: “I spoke to Lyle today. He called to send his congrats and was very, very sweet”. The 29-year-old actor went on to say: “He was jealous that I was at Wimbledon this weekend [...] He was just so, so sweet... and they’re doing really well.” Erik and Lyle Menendez were initially sentenced to life without the possibility of parole for the 1989 murders of their parents, Jose and Kitty Menendez.
