This helps them see in low light, making them skilled hunters at dawn, dusk, and in deeper waters. It enables them to detect movement and silhouettes even in murky conditions, giving them an edge when stalking prey. Their curved, serrated teeth slice through flesh, bone, and even turtle shells. Each tooth looks like a sideways hook with saw-like ridges, ideal for gripping and tearing. They’re constantly replaced, so they never go dull. They have five large gill slits on each side to extract oxygen as water flows over them, bringing oxygen in and releasing carbon dioxide.
