In a Top Gear interview, he stated, “I have driven them all and I don’t get it, really,” referring to other brands’ turbo-hybrid setups. Rimac argues that turbo engines are already compromises, and adding hybrid systems on top makes them unnecessarily complex. He believes electric motors can fully replace the function of a turbo by offering instant torque and responsiveness.
