On a sunny afternoon at GEODIS Park, Nashville SC made club history by hosting their first Premier League side, Aston Villa F.C., for the first time ever, and delivered a thrilling 2-2 draw in front of a lively home crowd.
Villa took the lead in the first half with a goal from Ollie Watkins, then extended it early in the second through Donyell Malen. But Nashville SC roared back. 19-year-old Matthew Corcoran netted his first-ever goal for the club, cutting the deficit in half. Sam Surridge then continued his strong run of form with a confident equalizer to seal the comeback.
Despite being without key players like Hany Mukhtar, Walker Zimmerman, Eddi Tagseth, and Joe Willis, Nashville stood tall against a Aston Villa side loaded with talent, including Matty Cash, Tyrone Mings, Emiliano Buendia, Leon Bailey, and World Cup-winning goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez.
