On Friday, August 1st, UMass Boston Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics and Recreation Dr. Jacqueline Schuman announced the hiring of David Lun as the next head coach for the Beacons’ women’s ice hockey program. Lun, a native of Grand Rapids, MI, played four seasons for #UMB skating in 81 career games while putting together 9 goals & 19 assists for 28 points overall. He played under current men’s coach, Peter Belisle, and graduated in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science. Upon graduating from UMB, Lun played professionally in the FHL (now FPHL) with a small stint in the SPHL. He’d have stops with the Cape Cod Bluefins, Danville Dashers and Danbury Whalers in the FHL combining for a total of 195 games played. Throughout four seasons, Lun put together 50 goals & 92 assists while appearing in 14 career playoff games.
