On December 30, 2021, nearly 1,000 homes were destroyed by the Marshall Fire in Boulder County, Colorado – just a 25-minute drive from our Strava office in Denver. We’re heartbroken. Larissa Rivers, a Louisville resident and member of our Denver team, told us about the scene near her home: “The impact this has had on our local community is still being understood as people sift through the debris. I was fortunate to not have lost my home, but so many people I know were not, including my daughter’s friends and classmates. The bright spot is the way the broader community has banded together to help those who lost everything. In a world that often feels so divided, this devastation has really shed a light on the beauty of humanity and the power of a strong community.” One thing we know is that athletes rally around each other.
