Pressure from the trade war between U.S. and China could spark long-overdue reforms in China. CNBC spoke to Ruchir Sharma, Chairman of Rockefeller International on Squawk Box Asia today. ➡️ "I've been bearish on the Chinese economic model for a while, thinking that this is a model which has been far too reliant on debt to grow, and also the fact that it's not done enough to fire away its domestic consumption engine. And it's far too reliant on exports. All that's now coming back to hurt China." ➡️ "That is the one silver lining out of this, but overall I think the two big casualties around the world are going to be U.S. and China in this trade battle."
