I honestly don’t know how I’m going to make it through the next ten days, but I do know my obsession with testing was bad last time 🫠 I’m going to give a quick lesson in IVF girl math and linguistics right now so that you can sit right here on edge with me for the next few days:
So I transferred a 5 day embryo and today is 2 days post transfer (in IVF forum lingo that’s “2dp5dt” or “2 days post 5-day transfer”) — to translate this for a woman who’s testing after conceiving the good ol’ fashioned way, she would be considered around “7dpo” today, which means “7 days post ovulation”
Clinics want you to wait until 14 dpo to test definitively for pregnancy (aka the dreaded “two week wait”) which for me would be around 9dp5dt or day 9 post a 5-day transfer.
But waiting that long is nearly impossible and a lot of women can see positives as early as 5dp5dt (10dpo in natural pregnancy). I’m having a hard time waiting even until then.
