Did y’all know that Mother’s Day was first celebrated right here in #AlmostHeaven? 🥰👇 In the 19th century, Ann Reeves Jarvis of West Virginia helped to create a club for mothers to join together and help care for their children. When Ann died in 1905, her daughter Anna came up with the idea of the first Mother’s Day as a way of honoring the sacrifices mother make for their children. From this idea, the first Mother’s Day celebration was held at a Methodist Church in Grafton, WV. Today, you can tour the Anna Jarvis home place in the outskirts of town. Happy Mother’s Day! 💐
