Currently, the city is losing just over two minutes of daylight per day, and that rate will continue to accelerate for several weeks. Overall, Chicago and the suburbs have lost more than an hour of daylight since the summer solstice in late June. That will only continue through December, when the city will have just over nine hours of daylight as winter finally begins.
