The crew of USS Constitution, America’s oldest commissioned warship afloat, proudly participated in the annual Bunker Hill Day Parade in Charlestown, Massachusetts. Marching through the historic streets where the American fight for independence first ignited, they honored the legacy of those who stood their ground at the Battle of Bunker Hill on June 17, 1775. This year’s parade held added significance as it marked the 250th anniversary of that pivotal battle—one of the first major engagements of the American Revolutionary War. The Battle of Bunker Hill proved that colonial forces were both willing and able to challenge the British Army.
