On June 6, 2025, USS Constitution got underway for the second time this year, commemorating the 81st anniversary of the D-Day landings in Normandy, France—where Allied forces launched the largest seaborne invasion in history. The bravery and sacrifice of those who stormed the beaches on June 6, 1944, marked a decisive turning point in World War II and the liberation of Western Europe. This underway also proudly honored the legacy of the United States Marine Corps as they approach their 250th anniversary on November 10, 2025. From the decks of the oldest commissioned warship afloat, we celebrated their storied history and steadfast commitment to defending our nation for nearly two and a half centuries.
