I very much so deal with eldest daughter syndrome and growing up I thought I needed to be the problem solver. I felt that I needed to be an example for my younger brother and cousins. In the process, I didn’t really learn how to communicate my own feelings to others when dealing with hardship. Social media can very much feel like a highlight reel of one’s life, but in reality, everyone goes through emotional valleys and peaks. If there’s one message I hope you take away from this, it’s that it’s okay to not be okay. Find the strength to reach out to a loved one when times are tough and take it one step at a time.
