SIX YEARS, SIX MOMENTS! In 2021, we hit the road—literally—with the Eat. Learn. Play. Bus, a mobile version of our mission designed to bring healthy food, culturally relevant books, and joyful play directly to kids and families across Oakland. Designed by Cruising Kitchens and wrapped in a custom mural by The Illuminaries, we launched the Bus with a vibrant block party at East Oakland Youth Development Center, featuring free meals and groceries, new books, games, and music. Since then, the Bus has appeared at school sites, community hubs, parks, and festivals—meeting families where they are and helping kids access essential resources in a fun and welcoming way.
