SIX YEARS, SIX MOMENTS! In 2023, we launched a bold movement—a $50 million, multi-year investment to provide additional support and resources for students in Oakland’s public schools. We made the announcement at Lockwood Elementary during our 7th schoolyard transformation—announcing that by the end of 2026 we’d complete 25 schoolyard builds! Through our whole-child, whole-school approach, we’re partnering with Oakland Unified School District, KABOOM!, and a multitude of valuable partners, to reimagine outdoor spaces and invest deeply in the programs and resources that help kids thrive—like daily access to healthy meals, strong literacy foundations, and the chance to participate in youth sports.
