The light spinning setup was never a thing on the west coast inshore scene when I was growing up. Coffee grinders, egg beaters, and other cute nicknames for spinning gear were synonymous with rental rods, inexperience and at the time, sub par gear.
In modern times, I've learned to embrace it for specific applications from Inshore Saltwater Bass to casting at Pacific Bluefin Tuna. The technology has come so far and in many cases is a better performing tool for us as Conventional gear as we have learned how to implement it into our game.
Want to come out and learn how? We are running saltwater bass training sessions when we aren't offshore looking for Bluefin.
