BREAKING: The New York Mets are acquiring Cedric Mullins from the Baltimore Orioles for RHP’s Raimon Gomez, Anthony Nunez, and Chandler Marsh. Mullins, 30, is hitting .229, to go with 15 homers, 49 RBI, and a .738 OPS. While the overall numbers don’t jump off the charts, this is a huge upgrade over Tyrone Taylor. Over Mullins’s last 15 games, he’s slashing .306, with 2 homers and 8 RBI. After seeing the production out of Tyrone Taylor, there is certainly a spark plug on the way to Queens in Mullins. The Mets were in the market for a center fielder, and the options ultimately came down to Luis Robert Jr. and Mullins.
