The Mets drop their season opener to the Astros 3-1. Not an ideal showing for the Mets with a chance to do major damage in the ninth. Clay Holmes went 4.2 innings pitched and allowed two earned runs. Downside to Holmes was the four walks. After a Francisco Lindor sac-fly to pull within two, Juan Soto struck out against Josh Hader to fall to 0-1 on the early season.
