📢 The UN Working Group on Arbitrary Detention (WGAD) has spoken: the detention of journalists in #Kyrgyzstan violated their freedom of expression. Following submissions by #TrialWatch and Covington & Burling LLP, the #WGAD found that Kyrgyz authorities discriminated against the journalists based on their political opinions and violated their right to a fair trial— echoing TrialWatch’s previous findings. 🔗 Link in our bio.
