6 years ago today my mom’s life saving surgery to remove the tumor in her pancreas was canceled. She went in for her final scans before the procedure when the doctors discovered her cancer had gone from resectable to Stage IV in a matter of weeks. They called off the surgery and told us there was nothing they could do to save her.
I hear the same devastating stories from people across the nation who have watched their loved ones suffer from pancreatic cancer. Late detection coupled with lack of awareness and sufficient federal funding makes pancreatic cancer even more lethal. It is the
