A whip pan (or swish pan) is a fast camera move that creates a motion blur often used to signal a sudden shift in focus or emotion. La La Land (2016) Camera Operator steadijew Director Damien Chazelle and cinematographer Linus Sandgren chose 35mm film (Panavision Millennium XL2) to give the movie a rich, classic Hollywood texture — echoing the musicals of the 1950s and 60s. That choice also contributed to the saturated colors and dynamic light handling that define the film’s look. Via learnfilmmaking #indiefilmmakers #behindthescenes #filmmaking
