A wildfire that broke out in multiple locations has burned over 98,397 acres in Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties. The Gifford Fire started in the area of Highway 166 northeast of Santa Maria at around 3:50 p.m. on Friday. The fire has spread, burning 5,000 acres, and has been reported to be 0 % contained on that Friday. The fire has continued to spread, blocking Highway 166 between Highway 101 and New Cuyama.
