Sunday was the final day of wrestling for the U17 World Championships in Athens, Greece. Our final five men’s freestylers finished their tournaments, thus bringing an end to the event. We completed the day with three more champions: Keegan Bassett (45kg), Sammy Sanchez (51kg), and Jayden James (71kg) all won gold. Completing a pivotal repechage journey was Tanner Hodgins (92kg) who battled back for a bronze. Going into the final day, Team USA was behind Iran for the team title. We needed to win every match and Iran needed to lose every match for the Americans to defend the title we won last year.
