🇬🇹 Ahead of #IndigenousPeoplesDay, we celebrate the Indigenous Maya community of Nueva Trinidad in Guatemala. Here, Maya families are rewriting their story with unity and hope, reminding the world what resilience looks like. Displaced by war and threatened by natural disasters like the eruption of 🌋 Volcán de Fuego, they’ve built a new life—rooted in ancestral wisdom, grounded in the soil they cultivate. 🌽☕ With support from the Re:wild-hosted Mesoamerican Territorial Fund, developed in partnership with alianzabosques, over 170 Indigenous Peoples are healing their soil while protecting over 2,000 acres (860 ha) of forest. All of these individuals are members of the Union Huista Integral Agricultural Cooperative, part of Utz Che’ AMPB’s member organization of Nueva Trinidad.
