Today we mourn the passing of Lloyd A. Williams, a titan of Harlem, a champion of Black excellence, and a cherished friend to our institution. As President of the Greater Harlem Chamber of Commerce and co-founder of #HarlemWeek, Mr. Williams spent his life uplifting our people, our businesses, our artists, and our stories. From his 12 years on #TheApollo Board to his lifelong advocacy for Harlem, his leadership helped shape the Apollo you know and love today. Lloyd A. Williams was Harlem. His legacy lives on in every corner of our community, and in the heart of The Apollo. 🖤 🕊️
