A backyard pool can be fun—but it can also be dangerous for young children. Drowning is silent and fast. If you have a pool & little ones, here’s some safety tips:
👀 Always Supervise
Never leave children alone near water. An adult trained in CPR should be within arm’s reach—especially for kids under 5 or weak swimmers.
🔒 Fence It Off
Install a 4-foot fence around all four sides of inground pools. Use self-closing, self-latching gates with latches out of reach.
🚫 No Floaties as Life Savers
Air-filled toys are not life jackets. Don’t rely on them.
🧸 Remove Temptations
Take toys out of the pool after swimming. Secure the pool when swim time is over.
🏊♂️ Swim Lessons Help, But Don’t Replace Safety
Even strong swimmers need supervision. Swim skills are just one layer of protection.
