The Miners win! ⛏️ Sussex County (45-31) drubbed the Down East Bird Dawgs (29-46), 14-3, at Grainger Stadium in Kinston, NC. The Miners have won six straight contests and extended their lead over the New York Boulders to 2 1/2 games. Sussex County led 8-2 after six innings, poured on five more runs in the seventh, and tacked on another in the ninth. With tonight’s 14 runs, the Miners have crossed the plate 43 times in the first four games of the six-game road series. Eight of nine players recorded at least a hit tonight. Catcher Keenan O’Brien (pictured) went 2-for-3, scoring two runs and driving in three. Second baseman Hunter D’Amato picked up two hits and scored four times. Third baseman Sean Roby Jr. scored three runs and knocked in three, including his 13th home run of the season.
