🚨 Introducing the Department of Basic Needs Upon taking office on April 1, the Alvarez Administration is launching the Department of Basic Needs to advocate for essential resources like fair housing, food security, clean water, menstrual hygiene, adequate clothing, and more. 🔎 What will we do? ✅ Investigate how basic needs impact student success. ✅ Advocate for policies to minimize student hardship. ✅ Communicate student needs to faculty, administration, and trustees. ✅ Provide research and policy recommendations. We’re here to amplify student voices and strengthen support systems and we’re excited to launch this department as part of those efforts!
