3x UWCL champs Barcelona continue to lose players due to the club’s financial struggles. One of the world’s greatest women’s teams is having an unforgettable off season for the wrong reasons. After a public panic to close the club’s funding gap, it is being reported by Spanish news outlets that the team will be tightening their roster to fewer players–currently at 17– with stars like Fridolina Rolfo & Ingrid Engen departing. This is causing outrage among the fans, who have posted statements saying they believe Barcelona is unfairly cutting costs with the women’s squad, in order to preserve the men’s side. The women’s squad has asked LaLiga to separate their budgets from their men’s side.
