When Hugo V. was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer, he was angry and confused. A non-smoker, he soon learned his cancer was linked to a gene mutation more common in people of Asian descent.
At cityofhopeoc, Hugo found the care that helped him feel like himself again. Today, he says, “Hope is real. Don’t give up.”
Hugo participates in Walk for Hope to give back and raise awareness of the gene mutation that led to his diagnosis, helping others understand the risks and the power of early detection.
Walks will be hosted near Los Angeles, Orange County, Chicago, Atlanta and Phoenix or (virtually) in your own community.
