“As I reflect on my university journey, it has been both challenging and rewarding. Finding your path can feel overwhelming, but I have learned that going back to your roots can guide you in the right direction. Although I grew up in Canada, I was raised in the Philippines by my grandparents, who showed me the true meaning of being raised by a village - the power of community and its ability to create positive change. This foundation sparked my passion for volunteering, leadership and helping others. One of the highlights of my undergrad journey was serving as Co-Chair for the Alberta Not-for-Profit Association, where I helped bridge the gap between students and meaningful causes within the nonprofit sector. The culmination of these experiences led me to a career in Human Resources, where I hope to foster positive environments and build strong, supportive communities in both the workplace and the world.” Angel is a fourth-year Human Resources major.
