“For a long time, I struggled to find something I truly connected with. It was by chance that I stumbled upon forestry. The idea of making a living while working in the forest and learning about the intricate works of nature was mind-blowing. Transitioning from full-time work to being a full-time student wasn’t easy, but it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I’ve made incredible memories, like hitting the pith on my first tree core, eating the best moose meat through field school and travelling to Newfoundland for the 2024 Canadian Institute of Forestry Conference. Every moment has increased my passion for forestry and connection to the land. To anyone considering a career change — it’s never too late!”
