“One of my earliest and most memorable moments was during the second week of my first year, when I tripped down the stairs in CAB. Despite the embarrassment I felt in that moment, as time went on I realized that university isn’t defined by a first impression or a single bad grade on a midterm. Instead, it’s a combination of all the new experiences; from something so trivial as an organic chemistry lab that ended up becoming one of your best memories (shout-out Chem 263) to travelling to Guatemala with the U of A Medical Brigades this past May. Growing up in Edmonton, I hadn’t put much thought into university as it was sort of expected I would attend the U of A. However, I never would have imagined that the first year girl lying and laughing at the bottom of the stairs would be fortunate enough to have such incredible opportunities and lifelong friends a few years later, and I am extremely grateful to be part of this vibrant community.”
