August Burns Red, Bloodstock Festival 2025 REVIEW: August Burns Red have never done anything by halves. But in kicking off their main stage appearance at Bloodstock with their chaotic cover of System Of A Down’s ‘Chop Suey!’, they have really laid down the gauntlet. By the time that the crushing harmony of ‘Defender’ kicks in, every pair of ears in this field are well and truly pricked. Technically, the band continue to be in a league completely of their own, every noodling solo and glorious breakdown dispatched with impeccable precision, the gloriously chaotic ‘Composure’ and atmospherically dense ‘Ghosts’ in particular showcasing just how undeniably in tune they are with each other. And in return, the ever-expanding crowd show their appreciation for such artistry, horns thrown and heads banged in abundance.
