Lacuna Coil, Bloodstock Festival 2025 REVIEW: Through every fantastical reinvention they have undertaken over the last 25 years, one thing has remained constant for Lacuna Coil: their unwavering knack for putting on a spectacle. And from the moment that they set off over 20 confetti cannons filled with colours of the Italian flag out into the crowd assembled at the Ronnie James Dio Stage, you know that Bloodstock is no exception to that trend. Despite the heat of the sun cooking these surroundings, the band’s atmospherically compelling brand of emotional metal feels icy cold in comparison, with the stark intent of ‘I Wish You Were Dead’ and the metalcore pummel of ‘Layers Of Time’ sending the most shivers. Christina Scabbia and Andrea Ferro continue to be a formidable duo, too, the latter delivering guttural heft with slick style and the former making every hair stand on end with some of the most opulent vocals you’re going to hear all weekend.
