Starting Aug. 24, SEPTA plans to reduce service on more than 100 lines across its system and also plans to raise fares by 21% in September if it does not get enough funding from the state. A SEPTA spokesperson says state funding needs to arrive by Aug. 14 to avoid service cuts and fare hikes. SEPTA will announce its adjusted schedule at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
