Thank you, Raleigh! That was genuinely such a fun time! I raced at the sirwaltermiler on Friday night and placed 11th in 4:32.9 The result isn’t flashy (although my kit sure was!! ✨)- I was in the back of the race and ran almost exactly 10 seconds slower than my PR. Here’s the thing: I actually had FUN racing on the track that night. I almost can’t believe it, but it really was so enjoyable. Old me couldn’t have said that without finishing higher or running faster. Old me would have been frustrated and irritated (who read my newsletter back in April this year after I ran 4:33 at Drake Relays???). I’m growing into a new version of Steeple Squigs in this season of my life and I know it won’t feel like this every time because progress is not linear, but Friday night under the lights was a big step in the direction I’m headed. I basically re-opened my season at this race, reminding the body of that race burn again. And now I’m in Europe for more racing over the next few weeks!!! Next u...
