If we were to say ‘251’, would you know who we are referring to? ‘251’ is the call sign used on police radio to signify the patrol supervisor of a police service area for any given shift. They are responsible for the supervision and welfare of officers on patrol in their patch. The 251 decides which police units go where and when and are ultimately responsible for keeping their community safe. In our final episode for season 3 of the Police Life: The Experts podcast, we chat to a couple of 251 sergeants from Melbourne’s north-east about what it is like to be the person everyone looks to on the frontline. #CrimePodcast #TheExperts #PolicePodcast #TrueCrime
