In a recent interview with Decider, “Wednesday” creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar addressed viewer hopes for a queer romance between Wednesday Addams and her roommate Enid Sinclair.
They clarified that the show is firmly focused on female friendship and sisterhood, stating: “It’s a show about female friendship and people can read into whatever they want… they’re very much friends.”
They emphasised that while audience interpretation is valued, no romantic storyline between the characters is planned.Adding to Gough’s comments, Millar told Decider that the creative team always aimed to ground Wednesday and Enid’s dynamic in “the idea of sisterhood and what that means.”
While it may not be romantic, Millar described it as something rare and meaningful — a deep connection between two seemingly opposite teens who find solace in each other’s presence.
