UK Black Pride, founded in 2005 by Lady Phyll and fellow Black lesbian activists, has grown from a day trip to Southend-on-Sea into the world’s largest celebration for LGBTQ+ people of African, Asian, Caribbean, Latin American, and Middle Eastern heritage. Marking its 20th anniversary in 2025, the festival returns to Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park with the theme Becoming, honouring two decades of growth. Expect Drag Race UK stars Tayce and Black Peppa, Grammy-nominated singer Durand Bernarr, and hosts Will Njobvu and Rikki Beadle-Blair.
