Central Iowa Water Works has lifted the last of its unprecedented lawn-watering ban, telling cities, schools and other government organizations they, like homeowners and businesses, are free of restrictions.
But in announcing the lifting of the ban Thursday, Aug. 7, the regional water authority asked that customers voluntarily reduce their watering by 25% and continue following a staggered schedule for irrigating their lawns.
Properties with even-numbered addresses are asked to water on Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays; those with odd-numbered addresses on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. All are asked to refrain from watering on Mondays.
