July Asiyah Dump ✨
July was as beautiful and eventful as you can imagine — especially for our residents ☺️
📸 Pic 1: At a Volunteer Friday event, we stumbled upon a mother’s daughter’s end-of-year book filled with all of her drawings.
📸 Pics 2–5: She’s a little genius! Her artwork is full of heart and color.
📸 Pic 6: The Asiyah Center attended a rally on the steps of City Hall to announce a $3 million budget dedicated to providing services for immigrant survivors of gender-based violence. This initiative is close to our hearts, as the majority of DV survivors we support are immigrants. We’re so excited to see these resources come to life!
📸 Pics 7-8: To wrap up July, we hosted an Asiyah and Friends event! We took our shelter residents for a picnic at Brooklyn Bridge Park — an evening to spend time together, dress in our best outfits, and just be girls. We enjoyed ice cream, played volleyball, and shared some amazing food!
